The opportunity
A low inventory count does not always mean a product should be reordered first. Urgency also depends on sellable quantity, recent demand, incoming stock, supplier lead time, margin, and whether the SKU is still active. A reliable replenishment queue makes those assumptions visible.
BizSidekick calculates days of supply for each eligible SKU, identifies the items likely to run out before replenishment arrives, and separates confirmed inventory from forecasts.
How it works
- Read sellable inventory — Pull location-level on-hand, committed, unavailable, incoming, and sellable quantities.
- Calculate demand velocity — Use a configurable recent-sales window and weight recent demand changes without assuming every spike will continue.
- Apply replenishment constraints — Include supplier lead time, safety stock, open transfers, and confirmed purchase orders where available.
- Exclude invalid candidates — Remove archived, discontinued, non-stocked, and intentionally unavailable SKUs.
- Rank stockout exposure — Sort by forecast runout date, revenue exposure, product importance, and confidence in the inputs.
- Recommend the next review — Return reorder quantity or timing guidance, missing inputs, and the date when each forecast should be refreshed.
Safety boundary
When location stock, incoming inventory, lead time, or a stable demand window is missing, BizSidekick labels the forecast and does not present the suggested quantity as a confirmed purchase order.
Expected outcome
A replenishment queue with urgency, recommended quantity, and evidence limits
